Subway station to park at outside of NYC?

I am traveling down to the city from upstate New York. It is just a day trip, but I don't want to drive into the city so I was hoping to park at a station on the outskirts and take the subway in. I am located directly north of the city, and hope to travel into the MOMA area. If someone could name a station that would be conveniently located to do this, that would be wonderful.
