What is he thinking? ?

I've been dating this guy on and off for around 9 months. He doesn't live incredibly far away, but it is far enough to where it is a little inconvenient for both of us to make time for each other. He keeps telling me that he really likes me and has since we first met. Another thing that has gotten in the way of our relationship is the fact that he is/was addicted to narcotics. I told him that i wouldn't date him unless he kicked the habit, which to the best of my knowledge he has stopped abusing. So now he has moved closer, his drug abuse has stopped I'm now ready to consider a real relationship with him. The problem is that he has stopped texting me for the past two weeks and i cant think of a reason. I have talked to him a few times, and he acts really sweet, but only texts me for a few texts then stops. I understand if he has stopped liking me, but i want a way to know that for sure, if that's even the case. I'm just really confused about what is going on with him and what he wants. Please Help!
